Mentor was designed to give safe-driving feedback specific to individual driving data. Mentor will use information gathered on your trips to celebrate safe driving while suggesting best practices in areas where you may need to improve.
Ensure the following settings are enabled to accurately capture trips and receive notifications about your driving:
- Location Services (iOS)
- Motion & Fitness (iOS)
- Location (Android)
- Battery Saver Mode (Android)
Note: Disabling these settings will prompt Mentor to notify you to turn these on so the app can function properly.
You may also receive notifications about changes in your driving behavior or events. Mentor will alert you with a notification if your score or risk levels change to help celebrate your improvement or provide support in areas where you need it the most. For example, if your risk level changes for a specific driving behavior or if you have consistent positive or negative events, you may receive a notification. For Mentor users who have license monitoring, you will receive a notification if a new incident, collision, or event is detected.
You will also receive notifications to check in with Circles (if your organization uses this feature), to complete a new or outstanding Playlist item, or to learn best practices through regular safe-driving reminders. You may also receive a notification if you have not logged a trip recently or if new features are available on the app.
Additionally, exceeding 79.9 mph / 128.5 km/h triggers an audio alert on your device and / or through your vehicle's sound system if connected via Bluetooth and enabled on your device. This serves to notify you of the hazardous speed and prompt you to decelerate as a safety measure.
Notifications can be customized at any time from the More menu:
- Tap the More icon at the bottom right of the screen.
- Tap Notifications and toggle the options to alert you when updates occur, such as when Circle members send you a message or when a new trip is scored, so you can review your performance and feedback.
