The following criteria must be met in order for Mentor to properly capture a Trip:
- You must be logged into Mentor.
- You must Begin Shift or Begin Route at the beginning of your shift.
- If applicable, you may need to complete a Pre-trip Inspection report to complete the start of our shift.
- If you are not on a cellular network or your phone is offline, your trip is still being captured; however, it will not appear on your Mentor Dashboard until your phone is online or on the cellular network again.
- Your device must have the proper sensors and permissions/settings must be properly set.
Below are the device requirements for Mentor to function properly:
- Android 5.0 or above or iOS 10 or above are required. A smartphone manufactured in the past 2 years should be Mentor-compatible, although not all devices have the broadest range of sensors. The minimum hardware required is GPS, gyro sensor and an accelerometer.
Additionally, the below settings are required for Mentor to detect trip start/stop effectively:
- iOS:
- “Location Services” must be turned on in Settings —> Privacy —> Location Services.
- “Motion & Fitness” must be on and Location must be set to “Always” in Settings—> Mentor.
- Android:
- “Location” must be turned on in Settings.
“Battery Saver Mode” must be disabled.
