Smooth maneuvers are positive driving behaviors. The FICO® Safe Driving Score combines several factors including the length of the trip, the duration of events, and triggered events (negative events from harsh maneuvers and positive events from smooth maneuvers).
Smooth maneuvers include the following:
- Smooth start: A smooth start is measured by gradual acceleration from a stationary position up to speed and determines if you accelerate gradually and safely.
- Smooth stop: Similar to a smooth start, smooth stopping is safe and gradual deceleration that is consistently within a safe threshold.
- Smooth turn: Similar to smooth starts and stops, a smooth turn is turning at a safe and consistent speed for the duration of a curve.
