Mentor offers a variety of ways to capture and categorize trips. Your trips can be categorized as Driver, Personal, or Passenger through shift-based, trip-based, auto shift-based, and Work Hours settings.
For trip-based settings without Work Hours set, all trips will automatically default to Driver. You can manually change this setting in your Trips tab if you are a passenger or if you take a personal trip outside of work hours. If you have Work Hours set, Mentor will automatically categorize trips taken during your shift as Driver and trips taken outside of your shift as Personal.
If you use shift-based settings, all your trips taken during your shift will be categorized as Driver and will appear as one continuous trip.
Your company opted for eDriving's solution, valuing its commitment to drivers' privacy when not on work-related trips. The details below are requirements for many employers; however, your company may have their own requirements. Check with your manager or consult your employee handbook for additional details.
If you are driving a corporate vehicle:
- Your company is responsible for your safety as well as the safety of the communities in which you live and work, whenever you are driving the corporate vehicle.
- Mentor must always be ON and active when you are driving your corporate vehicle, whether driving for work or on personal time.
- When driving your corporate vehicle on personal time, remember to record your trips as Personal or Passenger to exclude the trip from your FICO® Safe Driving Score.
If you drive your own vehicle for work purposes:
- Your company is responsible for your safety as well as the safety of the community in which you live and work, only when you are driving your vehicle for work purposes.
- Mentor must one be ON when you are driving for work purposes.
- When driving on personal time, you may have the option to categorize your trips as Personal or set your Work Hours to automatically capture your trips for work purposes while excluding your trips taken during personal time.
If the scored trip is a personal trip, or you are not the driver, you may be able to change the trip to Personal or Passenger so it will be excluded from your overall FICO Safe Driving Score.
