If you interact with your phone, such as making or answering a call or swiping notifications closed, or holding your phone for any reason including to text or use social media, it will be counted as a distraction event and counted against your score. Remember, any form of phone use – including at traffic lights – is one of the most dangerous behaviours while behind the wheel.
Note: Incoming calls, emails or texts/notifications while driving will not count as a phone manipulation if you do not respond to them or swipe away notifications.
